2 October (Friday) at 17:00 we invite you to the Enter Gallery for the opening of the exhibition — free admission.
The exhibition is open until 30 October from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 6 pm and during the events — free admission.
On October 3 (Saturday), as part of the “Senior Weekend with Culture” action, the exhibition will be open from 10:30 to 20:00.
The exhibition shows admiration for the architecture of old tenement houses, villas and palaces, as well as the wildness of nature, silence and mystery of space. The exhibition shows the different directions in which the artist moves along the path of her work. It's a story about places where she feels “at home” — places where Venus is eager to warm up.
About the author
“I am a graduate of the Institute of Fine Arts in Zielona Góra and the University of Arts in Poznań, where I studied interior architecture. I have been drawing and painting since I was a child. In primary school, I regularly won awards and distinctions both in Poland and abroad, including in Szczecin. I create paintings mainly in the technique of acrylic on canvas or acrylic on wood, moving between realism and abstraction, with a particular fondness for symbolism. My work grows out of sensitivity to the beauty of the world around us, nature and man, as well as from a deep, personal family history. My mother painted flowers with watercolors, and my dad created models of sailing ships. My parents, especially Wiesław's mother, made me aware of the beauty of the world around me. This makes me a keen observer of every space in which I move. I love to tap into what life gives us and explore the ins and outs of spirituality and psychology. I invite you to a creative journey through magical places” — Sonia Zapolska
About the exhibition
“Magical Spaces is the story of my travels, which have become a source of inspiration, peace and creative energy.
The presented works have been created in recent years during numerous trips and returns to places especially close to me. The exhibition presents a cross-section of my work from recent years. I want to show you the two directions I've been going in lately.
The first shows the places where I stay most often. Świebodzin — a place of everyday life, Poznań — a city of childhood and studies, mysterious and fascinating Szczecin, and Łagów — a space of “power”, where nature, history and culture form a harmonious whole. There will also be less obvious, intimate places that hide a unique atmosphere and emotions. I could write a lot about Szczecin. This is my favorite Polish city, which I have been visiting regularly for more than three years. I am fascinated by the old architecture of the city, the culture and the development of crafts. It all started with a concert by the Silesia and Miuosha Ensemble and the Kamienica cafe in the forest, and when I met Olga Dąbkiewicz and the Retro Vibes Group it all flowed...
The second part of the exhibition is my creative search on the path of individuation. In this space there will be portals, nature, self-portraits, feminine energy and a bit of abstraction. It is a story about a woman's journey into herself.” — Sonia Zapolska
