A compilation of the most important, iconic works of the outstanding Polish director and Oscar winner, related to the Andrzej Wajda trail in the Museum of Cinematography. On the anniversary of Andrzej Wajda's birth, we will present two films from the review: Man from the Marble (1976) and Afterlife (2016). Man of Marble (1976) consists of two chronologies, connected by the person of the ambitious journalist Agnieszka. Agnieszka chooses the life of Mateusz Birkut — a pioneer of work from the 1950s as the subject of the diploma film. After obtaining permission for the production, she begins an investigation into Birkut. He talks about him with a lot of people who knew him. The film is a synthesis of the recent history of post-war Poland. Spina will embrace two epochs: the years of the reconstruction of the country during the Stalinist period and the political reality of the seventies.
