How to write a crime novel in the style of Agatha Christie? Where to start, who to kill and how to make every suspect have something on his conscience? During the workshop we will go through the whole process of creating a classic crime novel — from the first crime to the solution of the riddle.
Together we will plan the most important elements of the crime scene: the crime scene, the victim, the group of suspects, the detective and, of course, the method of committing the murder. We will look at different ways to eliminate the heroes, and thanks to the work cards, each participant will step by step create his own idea of a criminal story. Finally, we will come out with a ready-made plan of the novel, which can be used as a starting point for further writing. If we have enough time, we will also talk about what to do with the text when the last dead body has fallen - that is, about the editorial and the way to publish the book.
The workshop will be led by Ewa Majkusak - cultural scientist, editor, writer and business analyst, who after the third faculty decided to turn excess ideas into stories full of magic, cookies and cats. He does not drink coffee, because even without it he forms sentences that are repeatedly complex. Christmas Eve baby and admirer of everything shiny and cinnamon.
We invite everyone who wants to look behind the scenes of crime stories, organize their ideas or simply see if they can plan a perfect crime — at least on paper! Entries from 26.10.2026
