11th UFF - BKF: Swan Song by Fyodor Ozerov

Fyodor Ozerov is twenty-five years old and has one dream - to become a brilliant musician. For now, he spends his days hungover browsing Tinder and checking how many times his album “Minsk Syndrome” has been searched online. When the media heralds the outbreak of World War III and his sister participates in protests, Fyodor chooses artistic alienation. Convinced that Wena will return only when she finds her favorite daisy sweater, she embarks on a phantasmagoric expedition through winter Warsaw, meeting real and half-imaginary characters.

Shot for several thousand euros, Yuri Semashka's micro-budget debut mixes registers freely — it weaves the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice with poetry, animation and Slavic humor. It is a self-ironic and at the same time tender portrait of the generation of creators and the Belarusian diaspora, which, despite the weight of the world, does not lose hope.
