11th UFF - Kotygoroshko - performance and workshops for children

The play Kotygoroshko was created on the basis of the Ukrainian folk tale of the same name. “Kotygoroshko” - a boy with superhuman strength, who was born from a pea. He embarks on a dangerous journey to save his brothers and sister, kidnapped by a dragon. In the presented production, an old Ukrainian fairy tale is combined with the form of Toy Theater - a paper theater that takes place on the table, but in an enlarged form. Paper characters and vivid actors create a fairy-tale world before the eyes of viewers. It is a theater where great adventure is born from a tiny piece of paper. The performance combines the tradition of Ukrainian fairy tales, craftsmanship, takes children to the world of theater and gives the opportunity to interact with the actors.

The backing and production of the performance was carried out by a creative group of volunteers from the Unitors Foundation. Duration of the performance: 20 minutes.

And after the show — it's time to create your own theater! Workshops await young viewers. Together with their parents, children will not only see the finished story, but also learn about the process of the formation of the theatrical world. They will create their own characters. Together with the actors of the performance, they will make paper puppets for the home theater, play with them. Who knows? Perhaps that's when someone will try their hand for the first time as a director, actor, plastic artist or even puppeteer — all in one event.
