11th UFF - For Victory - AD/SDH

The action of this metadrama with elements of absurdity and satire takes place in post-war Ukraine. Although the country has won victory over the Russian invader, it has to face a deep crisis of depopulation, disappointment and the breakdown of family ties.

The main character, Roman (in this role the director himself, Valentyn Vasyanovych), is an unemployed creator of author cinema, who is trying to find the meaning of life in post-war Kiev anew. He lives with his 18-year-old son, while his wife and younger daughter — who left for Vienna at the beginning of the full-scale invasion — are in no hurry to return to the country in the face of a difficult economic and political situation.
