Aleksandra Wierzbowska — documentary filmmaker focused on photographing extreme expeditions and social reporting, traveler and initiator of the Women's Way campaign, which aims to combat sexual violence and increase awareness and safety on the road.

Her photo was featured on the cover of “National Geographic Poland”. She documented the floods in Pakistan, the rivers of Kurdistan and Colombia, the war in Ukraine, the expeditions of Mateusz Valigóra and Lukasz Supergan, as well as the international climbing expedition Project Armenia, appreciated by the Royal Geographical Society, as part of which a new climbing area was created on the pristine walls of Dilijan. She has worked with Sennheiser, SIGG, Aztorin, Merrell and PAJAK, among others. Her text “Additional Threat. Rape and #metoo en voyage” published in Wysokie Obcasy, was chosen as one of the 35 texts of all time at the 35th anniversary of “Gazeta Wyborcza”. Talking about reportage and the idea of the Women's Way, she performed on the ASP stage at the Pol'and'rock festival, Kolosach, as part of the Open Talk panel at the Open'er Festival, in the programs “Dzień Dobry TVN” and “Question for Breakfast”, Outriders Club, Red Bull Polska, “Zadła” and others.

Aleksandra Wierzbowska's lecture is based on the expedition “Expedición Amazonas”, the aim of which was to sail with packrafts fragments of the rivers of the Colombian Amazon — Rio Guayabero and Rio Guaviare — and to cross the Andes by motorcycle. In addition to the sports and travel dimension, the expedition had a particularly personal character for her. It was her first independent venture after experiencing rape during a solo trip through the United States. For her, the expedition became a way of returning to agency, strength and independence, as well as an impulse to create the educational project Women's Way, which today functions in the social and festival space.

It is a story that not only inspires people to explore the world and realize their expeditionary dreams, but also addresses issues of security, crisis response, violence and equality. “I believe this is a topic worth taking up in order to build a mature, responsible travel environment — one where adventure does not mean ignoring risks, and freedom goes hand in hand with awareness and concern for yourself and others,” she says.
