screening of the film + Q&A with the director, heroes and heroines of the film, hosted by Marcin Szymczak
BESKRIVELSE:
“Three Songs.” On the search for one's own voice Krzysztof Nowicki's film “Three Songs” is not a classic musical documentary — although music is very important in it. Singing plays a role here as a tool for building relationships and emotional experience. Singing as a way to be together In a social choir, musical experience is not required. Anyone can come to his classes, regardless of age, profession or vocal skills. It is, in a sense, a return to the most original function of singing — meeting people who want to express emotions together through music. Singing themselves out, they try to break the bad streak and find solace in contact with the other person. It is not for nothing that in the justification of one of the festival awards for “Three Songs” there is an opinion that the human voice in unison is the most beautiful instrument in the world. Everyone has their own song Among the choristers appearing in “Three Songs” are, among others, the artist Laura, who struggles with congenital fragility of bones, and her mother Małgosia, who constantly accompanies her, the incorrect optimist Kamil, who maintains her composure despite life's difficulties, as well as Przemek, trying to find herself after divorce and losing daily contact with her children.. Krzysztof Nowicki portrays them with mindfulness and empathy, showing community as a space that facilitates coping with loneliness and life crises. The jury of the festival “Młodzi i Film” drew attention to the director's “tender gaze” and the ability to listen to the individual voice of each character. “Three Songs” does not fall into the trap of tenderness — the film shows that art can be a form of support and community building, but avoids easy didacticism. Krzysztof Nowicki and his characters Krzysztof Nowicki is a director, cinematographer, screenwriter and producer associated with Bydgoszcz. In his work, he focuses on man and his everyday life. Before that, he directed short documentary films “Leocadia's Dream” (Audience Award at the Planet Film Festival in Barcelona), “Here was the Cinema”, “Swimming Pool” and “The Oldest Man in the World”. “Three Songs” is his feature debut — the premiere of the film produced by the Bydgoszcz KolorOffon Association took place in June 2026. — 15th Fonomo Music & Film Festival Bydgoszcz, Pomerania and Kujawy
