15 years of Berlin Bar Choir. An anniversary that, when viewed quite soberly, does not yet mark an era — but who wants to look at this choir soberly?
That is why the anniversary show in the Kreuzberg ballroom on October 9, 2026 is above all one thing: a suitable excuse to celebrate responsibly. Prominent guest musicians and members of the pub choir family are at the start again.
The Berlin Bar Choir has been touring the capital's restaurants for 15 years and increasing their turnover, because anyone who sings along drinks more lemonade. However, the almost 30 singers also feel at home on the big stages.
At Lollapalooza and Feel Festivals, they are almost part of the inventory. They also regularly perform with well-known artists. Herbert Grönemeyer called her “vocally outstanding.” And Aki Bosse also thinks it's “pretty good.” Praise could hardly sound more enthusiastic.
The Berliner Kneipenchor has been around since 2011. A group of friends wanted to sing together and revive the German atmosphere. Because no one was in the mood for a classical choir repertoire, the program included pop, indie, hip-hop and big sing-along anthems right from the start.
Today, the repertoire ranges from Billie Eilish to Peter Fox and Outkast to The Killers, Die Ärzte or Münchener Freiheit. As musical director, Lilli Born has shaped the sound of the Berlin Bar Choir for many years; her varied arrangements have become a trademark.
The choir concerts are now considered legendary. It is the love of music, the fun of the performance, the informality and the connection with each other that infect every audience. This spirit will also be felt in the Kreuzberg ballroom for the anniversary show, with a bit of nostalgia, but above all as a celebration of the here and now.
