18th edition of the Soundedit Festival: Citizen K.L., Howie B. and the premiere Maszynowa at the opening

Three-time winner of this year's Fryderyk Awards Kasia Lins with her new project Obywatelka K.L., the legendary British producer Howie B. and the debuting Łódź duo Maszynowa — these are the artists who will perform on Friday, October 23, 2026, inaugurating the 18th edition of the International Festival of Music Producers Soundedit in the Wytwórnia club in Łódź.

The highlight of the evening will be the performance of Kasia Lins, the undisputed winner of this year's Fryderyk 2026 gala in the categories: Artist of the Year, Alternative Pop Album of the Year for “Citizen K.L.” and Music Video of the Year for “Death in a bikini”. This project fits perfectly with the history and identity of the event.
“Exactly 18 years ago, we posthumously awarded the first Polish Man with the Golden Ear award to Grzegorz Ciechowski, who was a pioneer of modern music production in our country. And it is his sounds, his songs and his lyrics that will sound on the first day of the festival — says Maciej Werk, director of the Soundedit Festival.
Kasia Lins gives them a new, dark dynamic, embedding them in feminine sensitivity and depriving them of cheap sentimentality. In the dense, cinematic atmosphere of trip-hop and cold wave, songs such as “You Fall Asleep Alone” or “Our Pornography” will sound. A real treat will also be the use of the original Yamaha EX5 synthesizer, on which the leader of the Republic played. The singer and pianist will be accompanied on stage by a band led by Karol Łakomec. The concert of Obywatelka K.L. will be preceded by a strong, local accent.
— We have always stressed that Łódź music and Łódź artists are very important to us — declares Maciej Werk. — We also feel that we are important for the artists themselves, when they are waiting for the festival audience to show the premiere material — adds the director of Soundedit. On Friday, the Maszynowa duo, formed by Marcin Pryt and Fagot, or Grzegorz Fajngold — absolutely legendary figures from Łódź, known among others from the 19 Wiosen project, will take over the stage. Soundedit will host the official premiere of their debut album “Supernova”. Recorded in Maciej Werk's studio, the material, which was produced by Kamil Łazikowski, consists of 11 hit compositions in Soft Cell and New Romantic styles. Feyngold's electro-punk melodies collide perfectly with Pryt's poetics here. Although the texts are largely about Łódź, which is a little gone, and its departing places, they are a universal story about passing away, while giving the listeners a good dose of serenity. The finale of the evening is going to be very danceable.
“We end the first evening of our eighteen years in dance rhythms thanks to the Man with the Golden Ear, who returns to us. Our guest will be the legendary music producer from the UK, Howie B — invites Werk. This outstanding sound architect has collaborated with giants such as U2, with whom he co-created the album “Pop” or Björk (“Post”, “Homogenic”), as well as Massive Attack, Tricky or Siouxsie and the Banshees. The winner of the 2014 festival statuette returns to Łódź to present his latest material. It will be the only performance in Poland — a unique opportunity to experience the return of the master without a tour.
