“I am a graduate of the Fine Arts High School in Szczecin. Being an artist is definitely more than just a learned profession for me. Art has always accompanied me — not only in the form of painting, but also through theatre and singing, which over the years have developed my sensitivity and imagination.
I look for diversity in my paintings. I play with style, texture or color, thanks to which each canvas becomes a separate visual and emotional experience.
The collection entitled “Slavic Bestiary” is mainly based on Slavic mythology. An additional inspiration in the creation of the collection was the work of the team Percival Schuttenbach, responsible, among others, for co-creating the music for the game “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt”. I have long been fascinated by ancient beliefs, deities and monsters, which were often an attempt to explain everyday phenomena. The ones we can now name and understand. In my paintings I do not strive to faithfully reproduce old ideas. I am primarily interested in my own interpretation of these beings, based on symbolism, emotions and colors. Although the paintings are diverse in color and composition, they are all united by a common idea — an attempt to take a modern look at Slavic beliefs and their meaning.” — Estera Wyryszuk
The exhibition is co-organized with the State High School of Fine Arts in Szczecin.
