19th FGA: Meeting with Tomasz Lepich: Addicted to lava — passion, travel and risk in the world of volcanoes

TOMASZ LEPICH is the head of the Department and Department of Correct Anatomy of the ŚUM and a lover of volcanoes. This year he was awarded the Colossus at one of the most prestigious Travel Festivals in Europe for his relentless exploration of the volcanoes of the Ethiopian Afar.

This poorly described terrain, devoid of trails and infrastructure, requires self-planning and great care. Hiking in lava fields, in high temperatures and with limited access to water, is a huge challenge. Tomasz will talk about this harsh landscape and the dangers associated with exploration on the festival Saturday.
