About the event

Wojciech Przysiężny — commonly known as Violinbwoy in dub culture and sound systems circles — is a talented musician from Wrocław.

This acclaimed creator of dub music today began his musical education at the age of just ten years. After years of diligent study at a music school in Poland, he achieved personal success, mastering the violin to perfection. Moving to the UK to study music production helped him focus his future on the world of sound. It was there that he found himself in the monthly “University of Dub” dub sessions, which became the starting point for his further musical journey. This event and the accompanying sound inspired Violinbwoy to create his own innovative dub-inspired music.

The result was a rapid interest in his productions from sound systems and radio stations throughout Europe and the world. In just a few months, his dubplates gained recognition from the biggest sound systems, such as Jah Shaka and King Earthquake, and began to be played all over the world. Soon after, in 2012, the Polish producer decided to release his first release entitled “Los Alamos” for free. His signature sound was quickly noticed by Moonshine Recordings, entrusting him with the task of remixing Radikal Guru's “Ireland”.

This collaboration also resulted in the release of his first hugely successful single on vinyl, “Dread Out Deh” (which sold out in minutes). This proves that Violinbwoy's innovative style has gained recognition in the ever-evolving dub culture.

In the following years Violinbwoy received invitations from many promoters to perform live, combining dub with violin playing, in clubs and on stages throughout Europe. In 2014 and 2015 he performed as a violinist with the Italian sound system Imperial Sound Army, founded by Dan I — vocalist and producer known for the Alpha & Omega project. All this has made Violinbwoy an essential figure in dub culture and sound systems. With numerous releases in Moonshine Recordings, Archetype Records, Dub Invasion Records and Tribe84 Records, it's safe to say that this talented dub producer does what he loves most: he creates his own version of the “roots & culture” sound.

In 2017, he released his debut album “Død” (as a 3LP release), which sold out instantly.

In addition to his studio work, he regularly performs with the Imperial Sound Army collective at events such as the University Of Dub in London, and also gives solo concerts at festivals and clubs in Poland and throughout Europe.
