About the event

19.11.2026 Thursday 18:00
The Uhuru Theater invites you to a unique, clever and at times comic performance called “Polly and Molly”.
This is not another fairy tale sucked from your finger. Did you know that Dolly, the first cloned sheep, had offspring? This play is based on real events.
The story tells about the journey of Polly and Molly, lost in this strange and incomprehensible world. Girls, or rather sheep, are trying to figure out who they really are and who their mother was.
The show is for people of all ages and this is its greatest value. For children, this is a funny fairy tale about talkative sheep. Adults, on the other hand, will find an opportunity to reflect on our human identity, the uniqueness of each of us and what it means to be ourselves in today's world.
The performance is another version of one of the first plays of the Uhuru Theater. The screenplay is written by Janusz Janiszewski. The play features authentic (historical) sheep suitcases made 25 years ago by Violina Janiszewska.
The premiere of the current version of “Polly and Molly” took place in June this year during the 4th Uhuru Arts Festival at the “13 Muses” Cultural Center.
Directed by: Pola Parfianowicz (Polly) and Milena Zientar (Molly)
Design and production of the promotional poster: Milena Malis
The Stage of Theatrical Presentations in the House of Culture “13 Muz” as a project initiated by the Uhuru Theater, continues throughout the artistic season and constitutes a series of theatrical presentations, both of the theaters operating in the “13 Muses” and those that are invited by guests from other centers and cultural institutions.
In the second part of the evening we invite you to the open stage. If you have a text, song, dance arrangement or anything else that you want to present spontaneously, we invite you!
Uhuru Theatre
The Uhuru Theatre was founded in 1997 in the Youth House of Culture in Gryfin (now Gryfin House of Culture). The founder and artistic director of the theater is Janusz Janiszewski, an actor of the Kana Theater in Szczecin, director, pollist and theater educator.
Currently, the theater has been operating for five years in the House of Culture “13 Muz” under the direction of Janusz Janiszewski, who created the Uhuru Theater Studio for active youth, bringing together high school students and students pursuing various artistic passions in it: acting, directing, visual and literary arts and other stage forms.
Since the beginning of its existence, the Uhuru Theater has been cooperating as a creative group with foreign, mainly German, cultural centers, participating in youth exchange projects and co-organizing international theater workshops.
Classes in the Theater Studio of the Uhuru Theater are held from September to June on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 16.00 to 20.00. Classes are free. We invite you!
