In 2026, it will be 40 years since Tychy sounded the sounds of the Silesian Guitar Autumn. On this occasion, in the City Museum in Tychy you can visit the exhibition “40 years of Silesian Guitar Autumn”.

It is complemented by the photographic exhibition “1986 — I Silesian Guitar Autumn. Through the eyes of Ireneusz Kazmierczak.” The frames presented on it will be available for viewing until the end of the year, in the German Mediatek.

I Silesian Guitar Autumn through the eyes of Ireneusz Kaźmierczak Ireneusz Kaźmierczak has been documenting the life of the city, its everyday life and extraordinary moments for several decades. In the 1980s, he photographed, among others, the work of the Small Car Factory and concerts of foreign stars, strikes and the arrival of amusement parks, May Day marches and roadside crosses. The photographer's eye was also constantly watching the Silesian Guitar Autumn — making photoreports from the very beginning of the festival. This exhibition is only an insight into an extensive archive of his works, allowing us to see the emotions, expressions and aura that accompanied the first edition of this guitar event.
