🔸 Fanfare Ciocărlia

Fanfare Ciocărlia is one of the most exciting concert bands in the world. This legendary brass band originates from the Romani village of Zece Prăjini in northeastern Romania, where for decades — in almost total isolation — a long-standing tradition of Balkan brass bands dating back to the times of the Ottoman Empire has survived. Discovered in 1996 by German producer Henry Ernst, the musicians quickly conquered Europe, and later also the USA, Japan and Australia.

They are famous for their dizzying pace, extraordinary virtuosity and unique sound — their wild Balkan groove turns concerts into a real musical feast. Fanfare Ciocărlia have already played more than 4000 concerts around the world, released more than a dozen albums and collaborated with artists from different music scenes. Their energetic interpretations — from traditional Romany music to their own versions of classics such as the James Bond theme or Duke Ellington's “Caravan” — show that everything their wind instruments touch takes on a new, fiery character.
