, ,20 DAYS”
“When I was little and my mother was crying, I would say to her, 'Don't cry, because I'm going to cry too. ' And we cried together. When I was twenty-three, I said to her, “Don't die, for I will die too.” But, as you know, this did not happen. When your mother dies, it feels like your insides — those from your chest — are being ripped out with your bare hands, and a little worse.”
Who does a daughter become when her mother dies? Who is a daughter without a mother? Can daughters exist at all when mothers no longer exist?
“20 DEN” is a puppet monodrama inspired by the book, “Motherless” by Mira Marcinów — an intimate story about the relationship between mother and daughter, which is not always easy, but always leaves a void. The show is faced with the experience of loss, but also with the love, dependence, tenderness and anger inscribed in this bond. It is an attempt to face the breakdown of this relationship and the question of identity built on its absence.
