Marc-André HamelinA performer with almost superhuman technical skills, The New York Times wrote about him. Known around the world for combining great musicality with dazzling technique. He reaches for the great works of the classical repertoire, he is also famous as a fearless seeker of unknown pearls in the repertoire of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. He regularly performs all over the world with the most outstanding orchestras and conductors, and gives recitals in the best concert halls and at the most important festivals of the world.The pianist records exclusively for Hyperion Records — the label has already released more than 70 of his albums with solo, orchestral and chamber repertoire. The artist is also engaged in composition — he has written more than 30 of his own works. Most of them were published as sheet music by Edition Peters.Marc-André Hamelin is the recipient of the German Society for Phonographic Criticism Award for Lifetime Achievement, seven Juno Awards, 11 Grammy nominations, the Jean Gimbel Lane Piano Performance Award from the Bienen School of Music at Northwestern University, Illinois, and the Integral Award Paul de Hueck and Norman Walford Piano Art Award, awarded by the Ontario Arts Foundation. He is an Officer of the Order of Canada, a Chevalier of l'Ordre national du Québec and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
