Vadym Kholodenkoquickly earned a reputation as one of the most talented pianists of our time. He delighted audiences and critics as early as 2013, winning the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. He has already won major awards at the Franz Schubert International Piano Competition in Dortmund (2011), the Sendai International Piano Competition in Japan (2010) and the International Maria Callas Grand Prix in Athens (2004). He has collaborated with such conductors as: Valery Gergiev, Leonard Slatkin, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Kirill Karabits, Miguel Harth-Bedoya, Paul Daniel, Pinchas Zukerman, Yuri Bashmet and Vladimir Spivakov. He has played in the United States with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic and San Diego Symphony Orchestra. There he also toured with the Staatskapelle Weimar under Kirill Karabits, performed with recitals in Washington, Boston and during the Aspen Music Festival, among others. Vadym Kholodenko is also a frequent visitor to Japan. He performed with the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony. In addition, he toured the country with the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra. He also played with the Malaysian Philharmonic, Sydney Symphony Orchestra. His recitals were heard throughout Japan, in Beijing and Singapore.In the 2018/2019 season, the pianist gave his debut recitals at the Wigmore Hall in London, at the Salle Gaveau in Paris Paris and at the Konzerthaus in Vienna. He played again with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic, Staaskapelle Weimar and with the Copenhagen Philharmonic, Pacific Symphony and Osaka Philharmonic. He received the Diapason D'Or Award (2018) for his recording of solo works by Alexander Skriabin. His latest recording is a DVD for the Arthaus label — V Piano Concerto by Sergei Prokofiev performed with the orchestra of the Mariinsky Theater under the direction of Valery Gergiev.Vadym Kholodenko was born in 1986 in Kiev. He gave his first concerts at the age of 13 in the USA, China, Hungary and Croatia. In 2005, he began his studies at the Moscow State Conservatory under the guidance of Professor Vera Gornostaeva.
