Shrek is an ogre, a green monster who lives alone in a swamp. He is avoided by his contemporaries. But that changes when Lord Farquaad expels all mythical creatures from his country and they seek refuge in Shrek's swamp of all places. Shrek, who wants his peace back, makes a deal with the Lord: Should he manage to free the beautiful princess Fiona from the clutches of a dragon, the ogre can have his swamp all to himself again.
