About the event

The premiere of the fifth episode: “Greifswald and Wolgast — Hanseatic heritage, ports, university and Scandinavian influence”.
Greifswald, a sleepy university town near Szczecin. Literally translated — Griffin Forest.
What if we told you that it houses one of the oldest universities in Europe, which has been continuously educating young people for centuries? What if we add that the idea of founding a university there came up with a wise mayor and thus organized this city for hundreds of years ahead? Greifswald is also the place to which many monuments and archives from Szczecin were evacuated during the Second World War, which today are beautifully displayed in the museum there. When talking about Greifswald, we cannot ignore the plot of the great romantic painter — Caspar David Friedrich, who painted, among others, Elden, not far from Greifswald. The ruins of the monastery where Anna Jagiellonka, wife of Prince Bogusław X. Closer to Greifswald than you think!
In the Volgast we will tell you, in turn, the fairy tale “About the fisherman and the goldfish”, because it was invented here...
Premiere of the sixth episode: “Ueckermünde, Anklamer Stadtbruch, Old and New Warpno — charming towns, nature reserves and coastal climate”.
In this episode of our series we will go to Ueckermünde, but not to spend time in the zoo, but to get to know this unusual and picturesque town. It will be our starting point to the nearby wetlands of Anklamer Stadtbruch, to the archaeological settlement of Ukranenland, where we will find out who the Slavs were and where they really lived. In Germany? And yes. We will also move to Stary and Nowy Warpno, where in the least populated municipality in Poland we will look for peace, but also inspiration. The story of Old and New Warpna is a story about how the border between our countries changed after 1945 and how beautiful it can be far from the center of a big city, if only the residents want to take care of it. It will be a long day that we will spend together!
Lecim za Szczecin/Lass uns jenseits Szczecin fliegen is a series of ten thirty-minute episodes that will take viewers on a journey to the most interesting places on both sides of the Polish-German border within an hour's drive (train, bus, car and a little longer by bike) from Szczecin.
During these trips we will discover together tourist, cultural, architectural, natural, culinary attractions... — get to know the contemporary face of Pomerania, in particular the West Pomeranian Voivodeship and the federal states: Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
The aim of the project is to inspire local travel, educate and build awareness
The cross-border nature of our region.
In the words of Stanisław Jachowicz, Polish poet, educator, charity activist, leading Polish fairy tale writer: You praise others/You don't know yours/You don't know/What you own — we want to show how many attractions we have “just around the corner”, without having to make distant and tiring, and above all expensive trips.
The films will have their premiere, like the series “Theme River/Thema Fluss”, in the Fireplace Hall of the House of Culture “13 Muz”, and after the official premiere they will be placed and will be available for free to the general public on the online platform: youtube.com/domkultury13muz.
The planned result of the project is to increase local and cross-border awareness, develop tourism and activate communities on both sides of the border through the production of 10 educational and promotional episodes, showing the common cultural, historical and natural heritage of the border region.
The project is implemented from the Small Projects Fund as part of the Interreg VI A Cooperation Programme Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania/Brandenburg/Poland 2021-2027.
The project is funded by the City of Szczecin.

The Ruinen des Klosters, in dem Anna Jagiellonka, the Frau von Fürst Bogusław X., is buried there. Greifswald is near, as you think!
Premiere of the sixth episode: “Ueckermünde, Anklamer Stadtbruch, Stare und Nowe Warpno — charming cities, nature protection areas and climate”.
In Germany? Yeah, mouth.
