27.11.2026 Friday 18:00
Tibet has fascinated travelers for centuries as a land of great heights, mysterious monasteries and one of Asia's most vibrant religious traditions.
During the lecture, Leonard Szuszkiewicz will take you on the highest railway in the world to Lhasa, through the Himalayas, under Mount Everest and around the sacred mountain Kajlas, showing both unusual landscapes and social transformations and geopolitics of the region.
Tibet is one of the last places in the world where geography continues to shape human life in such a strong way. Modernity is getting here faster and faster, but it has not yet managed to displace centuries-old religious traditions.
How many Tibetans are left in Tibet?
