30th International Dance Theatre Meetings

However, this time on the occasion of the impressive jubilee, i.e. the 30th edition of the Festival, thanks to the cooperation of the Cultural Center, the National Choreographic Center and the Center for the Meeting of Cultures, on the Stage of the CSK Opera Hall we will see a special artistic program performed by as many as three great stars of world dance: Compagnie Accrorap (France), Compagnie Maguy Marin (France) and Tanzmainz (Germany).

It will be a real treat for fans of dance diversity: on the stage we will see 3 outstanding performances in the aesthetics of street dance, dance theater and contemporary dance, perfectly showing the wide range of interests and creative potential of European choreographers of different generations.

Compagnie Accrorap/ Kader Attou “Prélude” (France) 4 NOV | 19.00| CSK Opera House

Prélude is an intense encounter between the increasing volume of Romain Dubois's music with the raw physicality of the hip-hop dance movement. Breaking the rhythm, the dancers unite into one body driven by virtuosity and momentum. The audience is drawn into an energetic journey through the emotions of the dancers, the common breath and in the final — choreographic freedom.

Compagnie Maguy Marin “May B” (France) 6 NOV | 19:00 | CSK Opera House

By inventing a concise language of expression, May B sets in orderly motion a freely drifting procession of human beings, transforming into another form what is ridiculous, violent and disturbing. The power of this dance lies in its ability to represent the mystery of our presence in the world.

Moritz Ostruschnjak “Trailer Park by tanzmainz” (Germany) 8 NOV | 19:00 | CSK Opera House

Ten dancers on an empty stage, somewhere between the digital and analog worlds. Virtuoso, young, strong. Moritz Ostruschnjak's Trailer Park show explores how the increasing digitalization of life affects our physical and social capacity to experience what really happens in our lives. Using “meme culture” as a method, dancers copy movements from social media videos to create a piece that translates the overwhelm and fascination of the internet into their own bodies.
