34th Meeting of Reciters and Poetry Singers “Zaduszki” Siedlce 2026

The Municipal Cultural Centre in Siedlce invites high school youth and adults to participate in the National Meetings of Reciters and Singers of Poetry “Zaduszki”. The event, which will take place on November 5, 2026 in the auditorium “Podlasie”, is a unique tribute to the late Polish artists and an opportunity to present their stage talent in front of a professional jury.

“Zaduszki” is one of the oldest and most appreciated recitation and music-poetic competitions in the region. Its aim is to nurture the memory of the achievements of the late Polish writers, poets, composers and singers, as well as to promote talented interpreters of poetry from all over Poland.

Competition auditions will be conducted in two categories:
👉 Recitation Tournament — participants present two works (poem or prose) by late Polish authors; it is permissible to enrich the recitation with theatrical means, such as movement, gesture or music.
👉 Singing Poetry Tournament — includes the performance of two songs with live accompaniment or background music; we especially encourage the presentation of newly composed melodies and author's arrangements.

The performances of the participants will be judged by a professional, three-person jury, which will award the best performers monetary and material prizes. During the evaluation, they will take into account, among others, the selection of repertoire, the culture of the word, musicality, voice emission and artistic individuality.
