The Academy of St Martin in the Fields reunites with its Music Director, violinist Joshua Bell, for a special concert marking 15 years of their collaboration. The programme pairs Dvořák’s richly lyrical Violin Concerto in A minor, steeped in Bohemian dance rhythms and songful lines, with Mendelssohn’s “Scottish” Symphony, evoking misty landscapes and shifting moods from brooding intensity to exultant brilliance. Under Bell’s direction, these works highlight both virtuosity and expressive depth, showcasing the clarity, energy and breadth at the heart of the Academy’s sound.
Programme: Dvořák – Violin Concerto; Mendelssohn – Symphony No. 3 “Scottish”
Performers: Academy of St Martin in the Fields; Joshua Bell (violin)
