Adam Pierończyk belongs to the group of the most important and creative Polish jazz saxophonists. He has been touring all over the world for years, and his achievements include both original projects and collaborations with outstanding musicians of the Polish and international scene, including Sam Rivers, Arch Shepp, Gary Thomas, Greg Osby, Bobby McFerrin, Tomasz Stańka and Leszek Możdżer.
A special place in his work is occupied by the soprano saxophone. Pierończyk has been exploring the possibilities of this instrument for years, using it both in ensemble compositions and in solo projects. His first solo soprano saxophone album, “The Planet Of Eternal Life”, was a unique undertaking also against the background of the Polish jazz scene. Later, the artist continued this path on the album “Oaxaca Constellation”, recorded in a 16th-century monastery in Mexico.
In his music, he combines a recognizable, expressive sound with a lot of improvisational freedom. His solo performances show the saxophone as an instrument capable of independently building the melody, rhythm, space and dramaturgy of the entire concert.
At the 26th JAZZ Od Nowa Festival Adam Pierończyk will perform on October 17, 2026 at 20:00 at ACKiS “Od Nowa” in Toruń.
Composition: Adam Pierończyk — soprano saxophone
