Listen to Lars-Hussein's talk on adoption

About the event

Lars-Hussein, who was made an adoptee in 1967 by Danish missionaries, had to make the journey from south to north. A journey that others determined for him. And which no one wanted to talk about - even to this day.

Adoption is not a phenomenon that first emerged in the post-war period. But globalization set new standards for adoption. Where it used to be mainly local, large numbers of children were taken across national borders.

More than 22,000 children have been adopted from abroad to Denmark. Those who are adults have been active in the adoption debate for several years. It has given the debate on adoption an absolutely indispensable and very important voice. Adoption has received more attention in recent years than in the past.

In the lecture, Lars-Hussein will tell about the inner and outer journey. About the journey with an adoptive family, from growing up in Rwanda to teenage years and adult life in Denmark.

The price of the ticket includes something to drink.
