Adrenaline and risk | Extreme tourism

Why do we want to go where it is dangerous? Krzysztof Wielicki and Łukasz Tulej will talk about traveling at the limit of possibilities, risks, adrenaline and the need to cross your own borders. We will also talk about where the conscious taking of the challenge ends and the search for danger for the experience itself begins.

Krzysztof Wielicki - climber, taternik, mountaineer and himalayist, was born on January 5, 1950 in Szklarka Przygrodzicka, a small town in Wielkopolska. As the fifth man on earth, he won fourteen eight-thousandths or the crown of the Himalayas and Karakorum. Three of the peaks of the highest mountains he conquered as the first man during the winter ascents.

On February 17, 1980, Krzysztof Wielicki and Leszek Cichy, as members of a national expedition led by Andrzej Zawada, make the first winter ascent of the eight-thousand-meter, Mount Everest. This is the beginning of Polish winter achievements in the Himalayas

Łukasz Tulej - traveler, naturalist and survival art instructor. Founder of the survival school “Sobrevigencia con Machiguenga” in Koribeni, Peru. In his work, he focuses on learning through experience and direct contact with nature. In Warsaw, he created the Bielany Forest Base — a space for education and field activity, where cyclical activities for children, youth and adults take place, combining nature, survival and bushcraft. He is also the creator of the Bielany Archery Track, where regular training takes place. He organizes expeditions to demanding areas of the world, including expeditions to the Brazilian Amazon. He is a coach and a specialist in teamwork. As an expert, he comments on events related to the art of survival in the public media. He also hosted a series of programs “Naturally Poland” and “Survival Family” on Planete+. In 2024, he was awarded in the category of Culture Animation at the Bielanska Culture Gala for his activities in favor of the local community.
