Academy 60+. Japanese animation

We invite you to an event from the series Meetings with Japan. Academy 60+, a series designed for people over 60. Workshops, lectures and guided tours of the exhibitions introduce the culture of the Land of the Flowering Cherry in an accessible way.

Japanese animation is known all over the world today. Anime films are increasingly appearing in Polish cinemas, and seeing the heroes of favorite series on T-shirts, backpacks or bags does not surprise anyone today. What was the path of Japanese animation to popularity like? What inspired the first Japanese animators? What did the journey from instructional videos to today's multi-million dollar industry look like? These questions and many more will be answered by the November 60+ Academy. We cordially invite you to a lecture on the history of anime ending with a workshop on creating homemade animation.

During the meeting, participants will receive tickets entitling them to visit current exhibitions at the Manggha Museum. Classes will be held on Friday, November 20, 2026 from 1.30pm to 3pm.

Applications are accepted by the reception: by phone at 12 267 27 03, by e-mail at recepcja@manggha.pl or in person at the museum. When registering, please indicate the title and date of the event (“Academy 60+, 20.11”), name, surname, age, telephone contact number or e-mail address of the participant. The cost of participation is PLN 15 per person. Payment is made in person on the day of the meeting at the reception of the main building of the Manggha Museum. We encourage you to book in advance due to the limited number of places (limit: 25 people). A series of classes in Polish.
