Academy of World Cinema: Before Sunrise

A pearl in the filmography of Richard Linklater, a one-of-a-kind combination of poetry, nonchalance and youthful grace that the masters of the New Wave would not be ashamed of. The story of a chance meeting between an American (Ethan Hawke) and a Frenchwoman (Julie Delpy), who, under the impulse, decide to spend a dozen hours together in Vienna. Wandering around a foreign city, exchanging ironic retorts and surprisingly sincere confessions, the heroes more and more clearly succumb to each other's fascination. It quickly becomes clear that a seemingly casual evening will have an impact on their entire later life.
