“Warsaw Uprising”
The film, described by the creators as “the world's first non-fiction war drama”, assembled entirely from documentary materials, narrates the eponymous event through the story of two young reporters, witnesses of insurgent fights. The film uses authentic film chronicles from August 1944.
The description of the film is taken from the website akademiapolskiegofilmu.pl
“We call on Mr. Smith.”
An experimental propaganda film appealing to the average British citizen to take an interest in the growing Nazi terror in the occupied countries. In the abstract combinations of photographs, fragments of chronicled documentary films depicting the atrocities of war, in the play of planes and colored spots, the intention of the creators emerges — an accusation of the total extermination of culture carried out by Hitlerism.
