With exhilarating joy in playing, Akamus dedicates himself to an iconic Baroque work: Antonio Vivaldi's four concerts “Le Quattro Stagioni” depict the change of seasons between shimmering heat and freezing cold in sophisticated musical images. Each of the four will feature an Akamus concertmaster as a soloist.
Awarded many times, traveling all over the world and having celebrated on our stage for a long time with its subscription series: The Academy for Early Music Berlin is just as well-known for its original sound as it is for repeatedly mining musical treasures from the 17th to 19th century and for presenting well-known things from Bach, Händel and Telemann to Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven anew.
Program: Johann Caspar Ferdinand Fischer: Overture Suite No. 7 in G Minor from “Le Journal du Printemps” op. 1; Antonio Vivaldi: “The Spring” from the “Four Seasons” for violin, strings and basso continuo op. 8 no. 1; Alessandro Scarlatti: Concerto Grosso No. 5 in D minor; Antonio Vivaldi: “The Summer” from “The Four Seasons” for violin, strings and basso continuo op. 8 no. 2; Antonio Vivaldi: “The Autumn” from the “Four Seasons” for violin, strings and basso continuo op. 8 no. 3; Alessandro Scarlatti: Concerto Grosso No. 3 in F major; Antonio Vivaldi: “Winter” from “The Four Seasons” for violin, strings and basso continuo op. 8 no. 4; Giovanni Mossi: Concerto grosso in G minor for 4 violins op. 4 no. 12
