We invite you to a unique tour of the exhibition “Akitsushima. Dragonfly Island. Japanese armor from the collection of Victoria and Adam Jurgilewicz”, which will be led by Prof. Krzysztof Krajeweski-Siuda, collector, and Prof. Anna Król, curator of the exhibition.
During the meeting, participants will learn about the symbolism of the dragonfly — kachimushi, or “insect of victory”, which in samurai culture symbolized courage, perseverance and determination.
Krzysztof Krajewski-Siuda will talk about the collections of the Krajewski-Siudów Library, presenting a variety of objects related to his collecting interests. In the center of the meeting will be 17th and 18th century engravings from botanical and entomological atlases as well as old prints and porcelain. It will be an opportunity to get to know these unique objects and learn more about the history of the collection and the passion for collecting them.
The tour will take place on Sunday, October 18, at 12 noon. We do not reserve seats for the event — the order of applications on the day of the meeting is decided (limit: 25 people). To take part in the tour, please arrive a few minutes in advance at the reception in the main lobby and wait for the guide. The entrance ticket to the exhibitions according to the current price list entitles you to participation.
