“Aladyn JR” — musical of the Cracow Academy of Music

The musical ALADYN JR is a Broadway stage adaptation of the 1992 Walt Disney Company Oscar-winning animated film “Aladdin”. The original film was based on “Tales of 1001 Nights”, also known as “The Tales of Scheherazade”. The creators have modernized the message of this ancient story, attributing to the characters motivations that are easier to understand for the modern young audience.

Street thief Aladdin accidentally meets the beautiful and rebellious princess Jasmin, who has just escaped from the palace before an unwanted marriage. The boy, captured by the guards of the evil vizier Jafar, finds help from Jin fulfilling three wishes and - as “Prince Ali” - asks for Jasmin's hand. Only, will the young street man be credible in a disguise that does not quite suit him? And how will the princess, dreaming of the real Aladdin, accept him?

The assets of this gripping, entertaining and informative show are beautiful, melodious songs with music by Alan Menken, who won two Oscars for “Aladdin”, and the timeless message that despite all the temptations of fate, it is always worth being yourself. Which, of course, is not always simple.

The show lasts about 1 hour 15 minutes and includes most of the famous songs from the film plus one new one. The show has no age restrictions.
