Her music comes together in an elegant expression with edge that draws threads to the singer/songwriter tradition, jazz and orchestral elements. The melodies are sensuous and precise, and her compositions harbor a timeless quality - like something that both carries nostalgia and points dreamily forward.
Live, she mesmerizes audiences with melancholy glowing ballads, intimate love songs and orchestral interludes typically performed with guitar, piano, bass and saxophone. Her concerts create a space where great emotions are allowed to unfold with both understated strength and poetic precision.
Even now, she is critically acclaimed from international media such as The Face, The Line of Best Fit and Nina Protocol. In Politiken, she is referred to as “a good bid for a future Danish international darling”. Alba Akvama marks herself as a new voice in Nordic alt-pop with her debut EP 'Minute Nothing'.
