ALBERTA CROSS

With their debut album “The Thief & The Heartbreaker”, the English-Swedish Alberta Cross set a brand almost twenty years ago: The band around Petter Ericson Stakee fit perfectly into an indie world that was just celebrating acts such as Bon Iver, Okkervil, Band of Horses or My Morning Jacket. The debut, which celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2027, was “reimagined” once again in 2024 — with guests such as Joseph Arthur, Dan Mangan, Band of Skulls and Katie Melua.

Alberta Cross is still a bank when it comes to good storytelling on the border of indie, folk, rock'n'roll and blues. Songs like “Broken Side Of Time”, “Old Man Chicago”, “Low Man” or “Find A Home Out There” always give you goosebumps live. Alberta Cross has been preparing their audience for months now for the upcoming album, which was created in Paul Weller's studio in London. New singles came out very regularly, which were finally gathered on the EP “Transmissions From A Falling Sky” at the end of May. The bluesy-rocking “Cold Halo”, the “Let It Slide” set to music with a noticeable My Morning Jacket vibe and the folky, almost pop ballad “My Hearts Desire” are clear highlights in the band's oeuvre.

A release date for the album has not yet been set, but Alberta Cross are now announcing the first dates of their 2027 European tour. The tour starts in Germany in April. There, the band has built up a loyal fan base over the years.
