For Alberte Winding, the idea of working with a large orchestra has long lingered and simmered.

“I've thought for many years that it could be pretty amazing to hear my songs with strings and winds. The old songs get a new depth, and the new ones have kind of been thought in that direction all the time,” she says.

For more than four decades Alberte Winding has been a regular part of Danes' lives. From early years in children's television to an extensive career as a songwriter and musician. Her songs move effortlessly between the simple and the pensive, and often revolve around relationships, everyday life and the big emotions that hide just beneath the surface.

At the Danish Entertainment Orchestra, the enthusiasm for the collaboration is clear:

“Alberte Winding is one of those artists whose songs already contain a special poetry and closeness that many Danes have a personal relationship with,” says John Frandsen, director of the Danish Entertainment Orchestra.

For Alberte Winding, the concerts are ultimately about the encounter with the audience. The moment when the songs find their place: “I hope the audience leaves the hall with a feeling of light and warmth,” she says.
