CRISTINA RIVERA GARZA
(b. 1964) — Mexican writer, author of novels, essays, poems, translations
and critical literary texts. International recognition was brought to her by her novel
“Nobody will see my tears” (1999), which Carlos Fuentes called one of
the most outstanding works of Spanish-language literature of the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries.
Winner of numerous literary awards, including twice the Juana Inés Prize
of the Cross. Belongs to El Colegio Nacional, a prestigious Mexican institution
bringing together the most outstanding figures of the world of science and culture. Since 1989
lives and creates in the United States. Professor of Literature and Founder
Creative Writing Program in Spanish at the University of Houston.
ITA WACHOWSKA — Hispanic scholar, literary scholar, teacher
academic and researcher of Spanish literature and culture
Latin American, works in the Department of Hispanic Studies (IJILR) at
UAM in Poznań. Author of scientific articles and critical works, among others
contemporary Spanish prose that takes into account the category of memory, and
politicality. Editor of monographs and comparative studies on
Spanish and Hispano-American literature — in Polish “Mario Vargas Llosa: in the circle of creativity” (2013)
and “A Book for Juliet. Cortázar after years” (2019). Feminist and
co-organizer and participant of, among others, protests in defense of women's rights, rights
reproductive, sexual education.
