Aleksander Dębicz for the first time at the Pomeranian Dukes Castle in Szczecin! In the Bogusława X Hall, he will present material from his latest album “12 Dreams for Piano”.
“12 Dreams for Piano” is the eighth album by pianist and composer Aleksander Dębicz, as well as his third solo release. The artist presents a completely new material, exploring the poetics of sleep.
Aleksander Dębicz immerses himself in the poetics of sleep — an impulse that inspired him to create a new solo album. A dream, or maybe a dream? Nothing is unambiguous here, as in many nocturnal tales.
This is undoubtedly the most mysterious and romantic project in the pianist's oeuvre. The works are rooted in Dębicz's clearly defined, cinematic and classical style, while at the same time referring to the tradition of the classical piano cycle. The dream becomes a form in itself — sometimes simple, sometimes peculiar, governed by its own dreamlike logic.
As Dębicz says: “I'm not sure dreams should be interpreted. But sometimes it's worth just soaking in them and letting them become a source of inspiration.”
Aleksander Dębicz — pianist, composer, arranger and music director — is one of the most versatile and innovative artists on the Polish scene. Creator of the original style of cinematic classical, combining classics, narrative film music and improvisation, which he initiated on his debut album “Cinematic Piano” (Warner Classics, 2015).
His work includes works for piano, chamber ensembles, orchestras, theatre and film music. In 2025, the premieres of two of his significant works took place: “Unity”, commissioned by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute on the occasion of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU, and “1025”, written on the millennium of the coronation of Bolesław Chrobre, presented in the largest Polish cathedrals. He is also a laureate of the international Bridgerton Scoring Competition (2022). In 2026, he was awarded the Silver Medal “Merited to Culture Gloria Artis”.
For years he has been working with countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński — together they created the project #LetsBaRock, for which they received the O! Shines in the category of classical music and the audience award. Together they also act as artistic directors of the Break in Classic festival, held in the Baroque palace in Otwock Wielki.
Dębicz has seven solo albums released by Warner Classics and five Fryderyk nominations. He performs all over the world, performing both with classical orchestras and at entertainment festivals. As an arranger and music director, he has collaborated with many outstanding artists, consistently combining tradition with modernity.
