Alfons — Now even more German

Why just take one when you can have two? Two nationalities, for example? Sounds simple, but it isn't: “Frenchman AND German at the same time, that is a contradiction in itself! ” says ALFONS. And he also knows why: “Germans are disciplined, punctual and efficient — French people are normal! “And yet: The frenzied reporter with a training jacket and a pom microphone has taken the risk — and has now made a program out of it: In “ALFONS — Now Even German,” he tells the story of his becoming German, from the magical, sunny childhood days in France to the beguiling velvety gray of German offices. And ALFONS does not come alone, but in extremely charming accompaniment: his story is played over and over again by piano sounds into a musical pas de deux, sometimes humorous, sometimes thoughtful, often completely surprising.

“ALFONS — Jetzt noch deutscherer” is a wonderful blend of theatre and cabaret — and at the same time much more than the sum of these ingredients. An evening with lasting aftereffects: tears in the eyes, warmth in the heart — and a hangover in the laughing muscles. Just as you can only experience with ALFONS.

Whenever Alfons plays his program “Jetzt noch Deutscher”, his school project on the topics of democracy, tolerance and humanity takes place all around him. The project includes preparation material for lessons, attending the performance and a school workshop with Alfons himself.
