Alfons — class!

Alfons came, saw — and fell in love immediately: Alfons and Germany fell in love with each other over three decades ago. And now? What happened to the love marriage? Is it still burning, the passion? Or are Alfons and Germany just sitting together in front of the “Tatort”, in

Underwear on the couch and no one talks to each other anymore? And anyway: How is Germany doing? How are the Germans doing? What is wrong with living together in the land of poets and pensioners? Between East and West, rich and poor, young and not so young anymore? Is our democracy broken? And if so, is it a warranty claim or do we have to pay for the repair ourselves in the end? Alfons is worried about his great love: Germany.

And he sets out to find answers. One thing comes quickly: The time of slipper democracy is over! We all need to do something — but what?

Even in his eighth program, the cult reporter and pom pom philosopher succeeds in wrapping big topics into small anecdotes in an inimitable way, warmhearted, funny and wonderfully far-sighted. “Great! “is a love letter to Germany — and a wake-up call in equal measure. So if you've always wanted to know what the rule of law and rest room have to do with each other, how you can learn from Asterix for collective bargaining in Germany, or what Alfons experiences as an overwhelmed assistant teacher in a German problem class, then you've come to the right place. And if you simply need another evening that restores your trust in humanity, then this is even the right place for you.
