Alice in Cyberwonderland

Alice in Cyberwonderland is a musical cyberfairy tale based on the themes of Lewis Carroll's “Alice in Wonderland” — a contemporary story about a girl who falls into the world of the Internet instead of a rabbit hole.

Nine-year-old Alice is the last child in the class who doesn't have a phone. When her peers start making fun of her online, the girl dreams of only one thing - her own smartphone. Finally, she gets a cyberphone under the Christmas tree — a next-generation device that takes her to Cyberwonderland, full of likes, filters and virtual friends. A land ruled by the Queen of Games, promising children endless fun... in exchange for their freedom and dreams.

Alicia's parents, alarmed by her disappearance, set off on a quest to the nocturnal Cyberland. Will they be able to find their daughter and defeat the queen of the virtual world? Will Alice find her way back from Cyberwonderland to reality?

“Alice in Cyberwonderland” is a family show about what is happening here and now: children and adults tempted by technology in a world where it is easy to get lost between screens and real life and imagination that allows you to return to yourself.

The play takes part in the 32nd National Competition for the Exhibition of Polish Contemporary Art.

The National Competition for the Exhibition of Polish Contemporary Art aims to reward the most interesting repertory research in Polish theatre, to support domestic dramaturgy in its stage productions, to popularize Polish contemporary drama and to broaden the field of theatre criticism thanks to the presence of members of the Artistic Commission at performances in theatre centres throughout the country and their review activities.

The competition is organized by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute in Warsaw.

The substantive coordinator of the Competition is Dominik Gac, while the organizational and financial coordinator is Maria Stępkowska.
