Based on Lewis Carroll's novel translated by BOGUMIŁA KANIEWSKA
The play is not a faithful adaptation of ALICE — it is rather a record of a possible visit to Wonderland and an attempt to answer the questions raised by this text, including the most important one: what is it really about? Each time Alice's story can speak of something different: about growing up, about rebellion, about justice, about rejection, about sexuality, about tyranny...
The performance was created in collaboration with a group of high school students who not only looked at the creative process, but also actively participated in it. It was their perspective that allowed us to complete the contexts and place ALICE in a reality that is not as far from Wonderland as it might seem. And it was with the young audience in mind that this show was created. Although, if you look closely, the problems that bother them are not much different from those that adults struggle with. The color changes, maybe the stakes, but in the end we are all united by the same themes: rejection, the loss of a loved one, mental health issues, family relationships, relationships with food, the need to belong... We live in the same, albeit dynamically changing reality, so social and political issues concern everyone. That's why we also invite adults to Wonderland.
