About the event

EXTERNAL ORGANIZER EVENT

Amelia Tokarska LIVE! Celtic Tales Quartet is a concert promoting the album “Celtic Harp Tales”.

Amelia Tokarska — an outstanding harpist, appreciated for her musical imagination, sensitivity and excellent technique, filling the most prestigious concert halls in Poland — invites you to the concert of her band Celtic Tales Quartet. The event promotes the album Celtic Harp Tales released by the prestigious DUX label. This is a brand new and fresh edition of Celtic harp music in a unique European edition, featuring outstanding musicians from the world of world music and jazz.

The artist, who collaborates daily with Czech and Slovak philharmonies, in this project goes back to the roots of the harp, building a concert story inspired by traditional Celtic music. It is a journey through time and space into ancient Celtic legends — musically aimed at fans of folk, early music, classics as well as soundtracks for games and fantasy films, but also looking for jazz improvisation.

The concert of Amelia Tokarska & Celtic Tales Quartet at the Pszczyna Cultural Centre is a special event. As part of the evening, you will hear several winter themes as part of the “Winter evening” — this will be a unique opportunity to hear Celtic Christmas melodies in original and enveloping arrangements.

The concert leads the listener through carefully selected Celtic melodies in original arrangements, combining folk roots with the sensitivity of musicians coming from the world of classics and jazz. The harp is the center of sound, around which appear electric violins, keyboards, piano, percussion and subtle electronics. The whole is narrative, cinematic — focused on color, space, emotions and a journey in the imagination.

The concert program is based on the album Celtic Harp Tales (DUX), developed with concert narration and natural interaction between the musicians. It is about 90 minutes of a narrative audio journey, leading through Scottish and Irish melodies in an author's edition.

The album Celtic Harp Tales was released by DUX and was under the patronage of Radio Kraków, TVP Kultura and Presto Magazine. From the day of its release, it collected very good reviews and achieved high sales also outside Poland, among others in the USA and Japan. The album is available on streaming platforms, CD and vinyl.

The composition of the team:

Amelia Tokarska — harp

Paweł Biliński — keyboards, piano, arrangements

Krzysztof Maciejowski — electric violin

Sławek Berny — percussionals

About the album: “An album for all lovers of Celtic music, thirsty for music that speaks of emotions and the beauty of the surrounding world, without virtuoso shows, daring passages and tempos. Amelia Tokarska, a harpist who plays in Czech and Slovak philharmonics every day, fulfills her dream of playing the Celtic harp, returning to the roots of this instrument, immersing herself in the simplicity of traditional Scottish and Irish melodies. In Paweł Biliński's elaboration, their minimalist form is complemented by the timbre of electric violins, whistles, bagpipes, percussionals, as well as high-end synthetic orchestral sounds and electronics. It is music full of breath, light, with its gentleness painting images of the forest, the seashore and the green hills.” (DUX)
