Ana Gracey with Doxey Box

Ana Gracey and Luiza Lale founded 'Doxey Box' in 2021. Audiences can expect “throwback-style funky grooves teamed with 1950s doo wop-inspired songs that tackle modern issues with a side order of jazz.” Look out for Ana's sultry vocals and Luiza’s sassy sax lines backed by a lineup of world-class musicians from London's West End and Jazz scenes.

Born and raised in London, Ana Gracey is the daughter of jazz-rock legends Barbara Thompson and Jon Hiseman. Ana’s passion for music ignited in childhood and she recorded her first vocal session at the tender age of seven. Her journey as a singer and performer has taken her around the globe, yet it was during the lockdown that she found a focal point for her songwriting when she teamed up with saxophonist and lyricist Luiza Lale.

As a solo artist Ana is known for her empowering, heartfelt songs that blend minimalist electro-pop with soaring vocals and dreamy violins. Ana and Luiza cowrote her song "Be Someone," which reached the semifinals of the International Songwriting Competition. Doxey Box is the flipside of this and draws on her jazz pedigree. The songs are an eclectic mix, each drawing from a different era, ranging from Shirley Ellis to Blood Sweat & Tears and Steely Dan.

As legendary journalist Chris Welch wrote in a recent review:

“Doxey Box is the concept of singer Ana Gracey together with co-composer and saxophonist Luiza Lale that brings a fresh new sound to the world of jazz, pop and soul. Together with an impressive line up of first class musicians, they unleashed a combination of songs that rocked and rolled the audience into a rare state of high humour and deep emotion…Doxey Box is a wonderful band”.
