With moving harmonies and a clear, melancholic vocal, Ana Roxanne creates music that strikes like a caring hug on a cold day. The American composer and singer, with his distinctive sound in the quiet field of tension between ambient, jazz, minimalism and folk, has excited media such as Pitchfork and The Guardian. We have followed Ana Roxanne for a long time — and are honored that we now get to present her on our stage when she guests ALICE with her duo and the new album “Poem 1” (2026). The concert is seated.
“A magical pop-ambient mirrorworld” — The Guardian
Born and raised in the Bay Area and today residing in New York, Ana Roxanne has shaped a personal and subtle experimental musical universe for a number of years. Resident Advisor has described her sound as “introverted euphoria”, while Pitchfork has called it “ecstatic” — words that strike the gap between her introverted intensity and the near-ecstatic beauty that can occur in the music. Roxanne grew up listening to jazz, R&B and classical music from her family's record collection and Bay Area radio stations. Later studies and a choral program took her to Iowa, before a trip to Uttarakhand in India, where she studied traditional Hindustani vocal techniques, became essential to her artistic direction. Anna Roxanne released her debut EP in 2029 and, alongside her solo project, has also made her mark as a composer and collaborator to Bernie Krause, Beverly Glenn-Copeland and DJ Python, among others.
On her latest album “Poem 1” (2026), she channels grief and heartbreak into her most open work to date. Piano figures, vulnerable vocals and synth drones move slowly through an album that feels like a form of musical redemption in a cinematic prism -- where hope is found in the nuances, slowness and smoky melancholy. Like a warm hug on a gray and hopeless winter day. Ana Roxanne has played at festivals such as Pitchfork Music Festival, Le Guess Who, Dekmantel, Rewire Festival, and Glastonbury. She has also been on ALICE's radar for a long time and we are honored to be able to introduce her to November.
Hasfeldt
Danish Martin Jon Hasfeldt finds himself in the middle of art; between visual art, performance and music production. Under the alias Hasfeldt, he has performed in more and less sacral venues — at Roskilde Cathedral as well as at Mayhem and ALICE. His electronic sound settles between the club-like and the ambient, and the sound is nostalgic and searching, like an epic quest. We look forward to him returning to ALICE this evening as opening for Ana Roxanne, current with the EP “Play Me Like One of the Others” (2026).
