In this 2-day workshop, participants dive intensively into the world of analog black and white photography — from conscious photography to their own print from the darkroom. The workshop combines photographic practice, image understanding and manual laboratory work.
Together, we explore the basics of analog photography in theory and practice and go on a photographic journey in search of suitable subjects. Everyone then develops their own film, selects their favorite motifs and then creates their own print in the darkroom using an enlarger and photo paper. Step by step, real analog prints are created from your own eyes.
Sven Wolfgang is a photographer and artist living in Berlin who also works under the name Rüsilver. His work combines portrait, fashion and conceptual photography with a focus on the perception of objects in urban and natural landscapes. He studied at the New School of Photography in Berlin. In addition to his artistic practice, he realizes his work independently in the analog darkroom and deals intensively with experimental and abstract processes.
Lula Bornhak is a freelance photographer in Berlin. In 2024, she completed her training as a photo designer at the Lette Verein Berlin and has since worked primarily in the areas of documentary and portrait photography. Analog photography has accompanied her for many years. She always develops and illuminates her work herself, working not only with classical analog methods, but also with experimental techniques. In this way, she exposes her images not only on photo paper, but also on fabric and other materials, continuously exploring the limits of the photographic medium.
