“In this show, we focus on the body, as an everyday experience that for people with disabilities often involves challenges, pain and limitations, but also strength and authenticity. The show, however, has a deeper dimension than just the physical. We talk about the body, as a human experience, we do not avoid taboo topics such as sex or nudity, but we do not try to shock either. We are simply talking about the experience of being human.” — says Dorota Bielska, director of the play.

About the event

“In this show, we focus on the body, as an everyday experience that for people with disabilities often involves challenges, pain and limitations, but also strength and authenticity. The show, however, has a deeper dimension than just the physical. We talk about the body, as a human experience, we do not avoid taboo topics such as sex or nudity, but we do not try to shock either. We are simply talking about the experience of being human.” — says Dorota Bielska, director of the play.

The performance consists of directed interviews in the form of films, extensive choreography and projections on the bodies of the actors. The script of the play was written by Dorota Bielska (director of the play).

“I wanted,” says the director, “to let our actors tell a deep truth about themselves, one that you don't see at first glance, but still remember that this is a theater, not a documentary. I wrote the script as a result of our conversations, and then the actors played out their lines in front of the camera. And these are roles. The fact that we managed to achieve the effect of authenticity testifies to the professionalism of the actor. However, I will always emphasize that such a performance cannot be done otherwise than by working as any professional theater works. We have rehearsals for a couple of weeks, 8-10 hours a day. This work additionally required 5 photo days from us. And then many hours of editing from me,” he adds with a smile.

The author of the moving graphics displayed on the bodies of the actors is Jarek Rebeliński, long-time boss and founder of the band. The live music in the performance is created by Jan Elf Czerwiński, combining dynamic multi-instrumental sounds and live looping, using the sounds of water and voice. The whole is enriched by classical cello parts. Filip Wójcik, a graduate of the AST Dance Theatre Faculty in Bytom, is responsible for the choreography.

“Before the show, I thought about how to evaluate the play of actors with disabilities. By what categories and criteria to measure this spectacle? Now I know that this was the wrong approach. They do not need any preferential tariff. They're professionals. The performance is performed at the highest level, and the energy and closeness of the Teatr Razem team is an added value that makes it an event without precedent. You have to see it.” — Magdalena Raczek, trojcitio.pl
