The Flying Kantor Theatre as part of the tour TEATR POLSKA arrives in STRZYŻÓW with an unusual performance, awarded in the National Competition for the Best Performance of Independent Theatre THE BEST OFF 2026.

We will meet in the guest doorways of the “SOKOŁ” Cultural Center on October 17, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. After the performance, there will be a meeting with the artists.

Imagine taking out a coat that hasn't been used for years and reaching into your pocket, opening a drawer of an old dresser, or looking into a dusty casket on a shelf — what do you find there? A button, an old movie ticket, a token, a shell, souvenirs from the past, forgotten items of yours or your loved ones. Loved ones who are no longer there. When we touch a metal rusty can, a red button, an incomplete deck of cards, memories are triggered and nothing will stop the avalanche anymore, you will not escape from the anatomy of events. You are imperceptibly drawn into stories, you go on a journey full of dark corners, places where you are afraid to look, because why scratch old, long-healed scars. However, it turns out that you are not alone in the fact that everyone who listens to the stories of objects knows these stories, they have them written in their genes. What will this hike bring? Maybe it will tame the monster from under the child's bed, maybe it will heal the unhealed, it will remind you of someone worth remembering. Maybe there will be a reflection that prompts us to talk, to forgive and to tell the children why we keep an old watch in the closet or what that dried root in a corked vial is... “Anatomy of events. Pockets full of memories” Flying Theater Kantor is a kind of encounter with oneself in other people's stories. It is also a meeting with our ancestors, whose presence is revealed in our behaviors, decisions or unconscious choices.

The aim of the TEATR POLSKA programme is to facilitate access to the most outstanding Polish theatre performances for the residents of towns where there is a lack of public theatre. Its task is to popularize theatrical art and eliminate economic barriers to access the theater, especially in places far from the main cultural centers.
