Andreas Vollenweider & Friends in Poland! Route “The Journey” 2027

In October 2027, Andreas Vollenweider, a Swiss composer, harp virtuoso and one of the most famous instrumentalists in the world, will visit Poland. The artist will visit our country as part of the long-awaited tour “The Journey” 2027, again presenting his legendary music from five decades to the public! Open ticket sales will start on June 1 (Monday) at 10:00 AM at TicketClub Polska!
Half a century of magical sounds

For almost half a century, Andreas Vollenweider has delighted millions of people around the world with his unique music. To this day, listeners from all corners of the globe gather to experience his concerts together. What, then, is the secret of music that seems to resist the passage of time?
At the threshold of this artistic path in the mid-70s, the enthusiastic reception by the audience was attributed to the specificity of the then spirit of the times. Although social and cultural realities were constantly transformed over the next fifty years, this work survived, connecting successive generations of audiences.
Already in The New York Times it was noted that Vollenweider's music contained a “deeply positive detachment from reality” — and it is possible that this is precisely the key to its unwavering popularity. Vollenweider himself refers to the present day like this:
“Especially today, when we are all faced with disturbing events over which we have no real influence, we subconsciously seek moments of respite. We need to find and strengthen this deep-rooted, primal trust in life. I believe that this healing power lies in the very essence of music. For me, the world of sound has always been a personal survival strategy.”
Scheduled for 2027, “The Journey” tour represents for the 73-year-old artist a return to the key stages of his rich creative path. The unique versatility and virtuosity of the five-piece ensemble allow you to achieve a full, deep sound on stage, equal to the potential of a symphony orchestra.
The sound of Vollenweider's harp — powerful yet extremely subtle — fills the biggest concert halls with ease. It impresses with its mesmerizing rhythm, deep bass, crystal clarity and intimate closeness of the melody. In these musical spaces, the musicians accompanying the Artist find themselves perfectly, giving the whole an almost mystical dimension.
The team will be composed of:

Andreas Vollenweider — harp, gu-cheng, ethnic instruments, voice
Walter Keiser — drums, percussion, programming, sound effects
Daniel Kueffer — wind, percussion, keyboards, accordion, voice
Isabel Gehweiler — cello, voice, keyboards, drums
Oliver Keller — guitars and other stringed instruments

As “Friends”, the artist also describes a large team working behind the scenes — responsible for organization, sound and technical issues. Most of them accompany him from the first steps on the stage. Together they form more than just a concert crew — they are a close-knit family whose incredible energy is given to the audience, creating a one-of-a-kind experience.
What can we expect from the tour in 2027? Andreas and his friends will take us on a great retrospective journey, presenting legendary pieces from half a century of their artistic journey.

Highlights of the biography by Andreas Vollenweider:

• Born in October 1953 in Zurich (Switzerland).

• Comes from an artistic family (music, painting, dance, theater).

• As an enfant terrible, he began to walk his own paths early, painting and music passionately.

• Already in the early 1970s he had great success in German-speaking countries with the project “Poesie & Musik”, using texts by Heinrich Heine, Jacques Prévert, François Villon and Pablo Neruda.

• As a multi-instrumentalist, it was not until the late 1970s that he discovered the harp for himself — it turned out to be love at first sight. He developed his own playing technique and modified the instrument in technical terms, thus creating an inimitable world of sounds.

• In 1981, he presented “his new sound” for the first time at the Montreux Jazz Festival. It perfectly fit into the spirit of the time and took the world stage by storm.

• Engaged in peace, human rights and environmental issues; acts as a board member and activist of the Swiss humanitarian organization ROKPA-International.

• Sold out tours around the world at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall in New York, Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, Palladium in London, NHK in Tokyo, Sydney Opera House and many others.

• From 1980 to today, he has released 20 albums that have sold more than 20 million copies worldwide; he also records double-digit millions of plays on streaming services.

• His output also included great orchestral works.

• Winner of prestigious awards, including the Grammy Awards and the World Music Award. He was recently awarded the “Award for Outstanding Achievement” at the Swiss Music Awards for Lifetime Achievement.

• Won international recognition for developing an extremely effective sound application to stimulate brain development in premature babies.
